Are you being abused?

What to do

Teulu Môn is an inclusive and free service for families on Anglesey.

This is the first point of contact for all children, families and professionals for information, advice and support relating to children or children's families, between 0 and 25 years of age.

We are part of Anglesey Children's and Families Services and we can help if you are:

  • Looking for childcare or considering becoming a childcare professional
  • Want to find out more about activities for children and/or local support groups in the area
  • Asking for advice or needing extra support, this can be down to family breakdown, housing concerns, financial difficulties or bereavement
  • Problems at school, disability within the family, teenage pregnancy, alcohol and drug abuse
  • Want to talk through a concern you have about the welfare and possible harm of a child
  • Get help by ringing one of the Teulu Môn officers on Tel - 01248 725 888.
  • Contact Social Services and tell them what's happening.

In an emergency – like when someone is being hit or shut out of their home – call the police on 999

Ring Childline on 0800 1111 or go to the ChildLine website

You can ask an adult that you trust, like a teacher or youth worker or even a friend, to make the phone call for you. When people are working with children and young people they have to follow set procedures, but they will explain to you what they will do and will support you through the process.

If you are bullied, take a look at the ChildlineKidscape and SortIt websites.

If something bothers you or makes you scared, and you're not sure if it's abuse, talk to someone you trust.
